about

Originally performed by At Any Cost. This song came out of a period where all of us were fairly obsessed with AFI (around the "Black Sails"/"Art of Drowning" era). This was also our first attempt at writing a "slow" song. Around this period RJ was writing all the lyrics while I focused on structure and melody.

lyrics

No compassion, it's a no-win situation
I hope only for a brighter tomorrow
Never expected, I was never accepted
now I'm painted back with my own sorrow.

Who knows what tomorrow might bring?
Maybe just another daydream
but I'll put up with one more day in this
so-called paradise.

Hope deflated with each new day initiated
all of my pain and sadness grew
Anger flowed, my heart turned cold
and the darkness inside pushed through.

Who knows what tomorrow might bring?
Maybe just another daydream
but I'll put up with one more day in this
so-called paradise.

Everyone's in a state of mistrust
everything I touch turns to dust
Everyone's in a state of mistrust
in hopes to feed my deep dark lust.

Who knows what tomorrow might bring?
Maybe just another daydream
but I'll put up with one more day in this
so-called paradise.
