Backdown 03:09
I have to tell you something before it's too late I fear it already is and I know it can't wait but you need to see, it will never be. This time you've gone too far you knew exactly what was going on but you can't quit no, you have to let it go on You have to know now, I've got nothing against you but you want to do things I just don't want to but you need to see, never will this be This time you've gone too far you knew exactly what was going on but you can't quit no, you have to let it go on

Fall Forever 03:57
Tell me of your state of mind when you took the flame from this candle All that remains of this night are drops of wax and the faint smell of smoke. We know you want to give it back we know you're gonna try. Now this charred wick has fallen to its place beneath us for all time Try as you might you'll never make a spark radiant enough to take its place We know you want to give it back we know you're gonna try. All that remains is new life in its place but even this will die all in due time. No ill intentions, all aware remorse heightened, all aware

No compassion, it's a no-win situation I hope only for a brighter tomorrow Never expected, I was never accepted now I'm painted back with my own sorrow. Who knows what tomorrow might bring? Maybe just another daydream but I'll put up with one more day in this so-called paradise. Hope deflated with each new day initiated all of my pain and sadness grew Anger flowed, my heart turned cold and the darkness inside pushed through. Who knows what tomorrow might bring? Maybe just another daydream but I'll put up with one more day in this so-called paradise. Everyone's in a state of mistrust everything I touch turns to dust Everyone's in a state of mistrust in hopes to feed my deep dark lust. Who knows what tomorrow might bring? Maybe just another daydream but I'll put up with one more day in this so-called paradise.

Forever And 03:32
I'm so sick of seeing word after word etched into this glass and the undying fear of just where you are and my future becoming my past. Why is this, your majesty That I so love hurting you? By now this feeling is exhausted so I'm putting it to rest is this poetic justice or have you earned my best? Why is this, your majesty That I so love hurting you? One last wish, your majesty Find another heart to use This can't go on now, it's over now I can't go on now, it's killing me I can't go on now, it's over now I can't go on now, can't go on now Why is this, your majesty That I so love hurting you? One last wish, your majesty Find another heart to use

If I try real hard I can remember a day when innocence was the word but that day has long since passed and now I am not sure of just what I heard But I know one thing that is for sure and it's that I have become a professional at wasting time, both yours and mine and I don't plan on stopping any time soon. I've got these miracles inside of my head but I can never get them down on paper but still I still persist to resist at least it's for a worthy cause or nothing at all So now my future lies in front of me and it's a fork in the road I better make up my mind, my exit is coming up soon which way will I go? I try, I die And I feel we're finally getting close we'll be home soon and you can rest your mind who knows if we'll even get there will you wait here with me? If this is an end, then we'll find it tonight. This is an end.

about

So here's the story...

Back in January of 2011, on a random bored afternoon, I decided to set up a couple of mics in the living room of my Burbank, California apartment. For no reason in particular I started playing a decade old song from my first high school punk band, Perfect Flaw. I was having some fun with it, so I decided to jam on a couple tunes from the band I was in after that, At Any Cost.

Before calling it quits I busted out a couple obscure gems from my semi-successful post-high school pop-punk band, Waiting For Darryl.

Before I knew it I had recorded a little EP of throwback tunes. Songs I hadn't thought about for ages had just been spontaneously updated, wrung haphazardly through my late-twenties, aging emo kid filter.

Though I thought it was kind of cool in the moment, it was certainly nothing I ever planned on showing anybody. In fact, after hitting 'save' and closing my laptop, I pretty much forgot about the whole recording altogether.

Cut to: Friday, November 13th, 2015. I wake up to a message from an old friend and former bandmate asking if I still had a digital copy of some of our old recordings. Indeed I did, and as I dug them up I stumbled upon the "throwback" sessions from nearly five years earlier.

After taking a listen and chuckling to myself, I decided that imperfect though they may be, these songs deserved to have a life outside of my hard drive.

So, for better or worse, here they are. "The Throwback EP."
